Before I start, yes, I have followed the compiled troubleshoot list.

Upon pulling everything but mobo, cpu, and psu, and trying to boot, the case speaker made no noise.
I dont believe the PSU is to blame. All fans, LEDs, and even my cooling pump run properly.
The monitor receives no input and the whole machine is absolutely quiet.

My build is:
i7 4930K Ivy Bridge
ASUS P9X79 LE (default BIOS)
Antec HCP Platinum 1300 (1300 Watt)
G.Skill F3-12800CL10D-16GBXL (DDR3 1600) x2
Corsair H100i Pump system
EVGA Nvidia GeForce GTX 770
HT Omega Claro II Sound card
ASUS DVD Burner/Reader
Samsung 840 Pro SSD 256GB
CM HAF X Full Tower Case

Used Antec Formula 7 thermal compound.
Hand spread very thinly across the processor. No compound on socket or pins.

The X79 motherboard may need a BIOS update before you can use the 4930k.

Whats the best way to go about doing that?
I have the CD that came with the mobo, as well as the CD reader

Is that red light near the middle a debug? You could look up the code in your manual if so.

If it is indeed the BIOS, you will need another CPU to boot. You could take it to your local computer shop and they would (hopefully free) lend you a CPU so that you can boot.

Label just says CPU_LED
Manual reads "if an error is found, the LED next to the error device will continue lighting until the problem is solved".
So bios update?

It's likely a BIOS update. I know someone just recently who had a different ASUS X79 motherboard that wouldn't boot with default BIOS.

The board has a Bios Flashback button, if that helps my situation any.

Is there any way to do it without visiting the comp shop?
Just afraid they wont have a 2011 socket CPU available

The only way to do it without a CPU is to replace your flash chips which shouldn't be messed about with on a new motherboard.

Make sure you take a USB key loaded with the BIOS on it so that you can flash it while you are there.

Does it need to be a USB with only the BIOS update on it?
Ive never had to flash BIOS before, only OS boot from a flash.

Usually you just boot from the USB while it has the BIOS on it. You can usually install it right from the DOS prompt, but some flashing programs require you to be at the Windows desktop.

Newegg (where I ordered the mobo from) says this motherboard is "Next Generation CPU Ivy Bridge-E support ready"

Shouldnt that mean it has the proper BIOS on it?

Scratch that. Looks like other people on the site have reported having to flash it.
Will continue with the bios update method

So as it would turn out, you can flash it without a CPU.
That BIOS Flashback button I was talking about did it.
I'm actually posting this from the very same computer I was having issues with. Flashing the BIOS is what did it. Thanks for your help.

I did not know of the Flashback button, I imagined that it was for for flashing to a previous BIOS. Glad you got it to work!
