Will this GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-S2 AM3+ AMD 760G Micro ATX AMD Motherboard be a good fit?

Im currently about to purchase a radeon HD 7870 and an AMD FX 4350 with 8gb Ram and a 650W antec power supply. The onboard video doesn't matter much. It is only really useful if your GPU was to fail.

Sorry, i'm kind of inexperienced at this kind of thing and this may sound like a dumb question, but the onboard video chip set wont affect the performance of my other graphics card at all?

Nope. Your motherboard (should) automatically switch to the GPU when it is detected and disable the onboard graphics.

No, that is not a good fit. The GA-78LMT-S2 doesn't support 125 Watt Thermal Design Power CPUs like the FX-4350. 95 Watts is tops. The GA-78LMT-USB3 model does and has •4+1 Phase CPU Power design for AMD high TDP 125W CPU support.

The FX-4300 can be ran fine, but the FX-4350 does have a much higher TDP. It is something I should have checked last night.
