quick question:
in the manual it says it supports up to 4gb of ddr2 ram

so does it make it safe to put a 2 gb and 1 gb ram creating a total of 3 gb of ram? both of em are ddr2

im quite concered as it might start smoking up

you can mix the rams. just make sure both ram sticks are the same speed and voltage so you dont get memory errors.
the only time a slot will smoke is if the ram not the right voltage or type. with a motherboard with two ram slots the max ram would be 2g per stick.

so i dont only have to make sure they are ddr2, but i also have to check their voltage as well as their speed?
or does knowing them to be both ddr2, do they both automatically got the same voltage and speed?
