hwlo friends recently i bought gtx 760 and i was surprised to see the performance ,it was not like i expected like, for eg in ac blackflag i get 30 to 35 fps on ultra @ 1440x900 with txaa4
where as peop;e are getting same in 1980x1080 ,in witcher 2 people are getting 40 to 50 gps
and iam getting 30 to 40,so basically 10 fps low in every game,so i wanted to know is there any bottleneck ?

my specs:

intel core i5 2500k

intel dh67bl - mobo

4gb ram

500w coolermaster psu

gtx 760

acer 19 inc monitor

seems like you have less ram. but doesnt seem like any bottlneck. if they are getting the same they proab reduced the AA. your aa seems exceptionally high.Do remember that aa highly taxes your gpu generally.

will adding more ram will increase gaming performance ?

it basically ensure you have resources for other apps & wont switch to virtual memory. therotically you wont get a fps jump but you should get a smooth gameplay. btw you will have to switch to 64 bit windows wen you use more than 4 gb ram. min ram for gaming nowdays is 8 gb. btw make sure you have the latest nvidia drivers as they fix performance of gpu in games & applications

No, adding RAM when you already have a dedicated graphics card will now increase game performance. However, your power supply may have been your bottleneck. If your machine isn't getting enough power, you won't be seeing enough performance.

Also, did you upgrade any drivers? Most importantly the graphics card driver? This may sound a bit dumb but did you plug in your monitor to your graphics card and not on the motherboard? I believe I heard people do that and notice performance decrease since it would use the integrated graphics.

well, while plying games like witcher 2 , i noticed my gpu usage goes upto 99% and goes upto 81 c so is it psu fault ? and do you think i can get little fps jump by going with 8gb ? and yes i have plug my monitor to my gpu.

It looks like your card is over heating a bit which may be the cause of slower performance. I doubt you would notice a performance boost by upgrading your RAM. I don't understand why your game would require all 2GB of your graphics card. That's what stumps me.

what about other games? have you tested any other & observed the performance? your system is really fine but we cant seem to find the prob. no way your cpu will bottlneck so we leaving d culprit either to ur mobo settinsg or psu.

just now i tested my games @ 1980x1080 adding custom resolution from nvidia control panel , i was getting 35 to 40FPS in ac black flag everything on ultra and TXAA 2 so is it fine or i should be getting more ? and what problems can motherboard have ?

That's definitely fine, you're running TXAA which is itself quite demanding so that's what I'd expect from a 760

Buy the extra 4GB of RAM since 8GB is optimal for gaming nowadays

The 2500k is still a beast CPU so even at stock levels it will not be holding anything back

Another thing, an insufficient PSU will cause system instability and crashing so that would definitely not be the problem here (hence no PSU "bottleneck")

Also, 81C is a regular temperature for a GPU under load so that is definitely not overheating

No difference in regular performance, but once you run out of memory you will experience stutter and frame dips so it will impact the minimum framerate slightly, especially for more demanding games

If you run background applications (such as those which monitor your temperatures, gadgets etc.) then you'd want more than 4GB of RAM

Granted it's not absolutely necessary, though it will definitely help in future since you'd want to manage your background applications with only 4GB of RAM and your 2500k should last you well into another upgrade cycle (especially overclocked)
