HI, i am really confused between these gaming cards and exactly how do you compare them. I'm a newly converted pc gamer. That makes me a 'noob' in pc knowledge. So in NVIDIA, is the higher number a better card> For example:
GeForce 780 Ti vs GeForce 9400 GT? Over here 9400 GT is better since it's the higher number. Is that so? If not please help me ... :(
And i've heard that NVIDIA GeForce 780 Ti worths $699 ? LOLOLOLOL

anything nvidia with 4 numbers is old. very old.
new numbers are 3 digits long, 1st digit is the series (higher the newer), second numbers are the model within the series. higher the better. typically if you increase the series number drop the sequence number. i.e. 670 is roughly equal to 780, 660 roughly equal to 770.

Those 8XXX or 9XXX are very old series of cards that can't match up to the latest series.

You compare cards using benchmarks of how well they perform in the same game.

The latest (Nvidia) series of cards worth buying are the GTX 600 and GTX 700 series.

If you're looking for a card you can tell us your budget and we'll pick a good one for you.

I suggest waiting for an AMD R9 290 with a non-reference cooler to come out.

If you can't wait or insist on an Nvidia card, get a GTX 780.

AMD R9 290..? Now what's that?
And once again....how do you determine the performance of an AMD card..
And yes..i will not be using anything like "multi-monitor"

@op
You really need to determine the benefits of each company before buying.
And you need to learn them from either an unbiased site, or person.
