You don't need to buy a disk.
If your friend have windows 8 and you have usb3.0 more than 16gb, that works.
Windows to go will help you.
If your friend have Enterprise Edition of windows 8. the built-in windows to go will help you.
If it was not Enterprise Edition, don't worry, try aomei paritition assistant because of its new function "windows to go creator"
Boot Windows 8 or 8.1 from USB Drive on Any Computer
As is well known, Windows To Go is only available in Windows 8 and 8.1 Enterprise Edition. If your computer system is neither Windows 8 nor 8.1 Enterprise, how to create Windows 8 or 8.1 bootable USB drive? Buy Windows 8 or 8.1 Enterprise Edition, or use complex and troublesome command line? None of them is the best choice!
Now Partition Assistant brings new feature named Windows To Go Creator that enables you to deploy a full corporate environment that will boot from a USB drive or external USB hard drive. With Partition Assistant, you don't either have to purchase Windows 8 or 8.1 Enterprise Edition, or use command line. The handy wizard (GUI-based) will guide you through the process of installing Windows 8 or 8.1 on removable USB drive.
