Using two hardrives with windows 7&ultimate

Hi i'm just gonna install a sshd into my computer using windows 7 home premium i want to keep my old hard drive with windows 7 ultimate which has slight problems with certain programs, anyway can i stiil keep the hardrive with ultimate and it's programs in slave and use the new drive for startup

If your old hdd is IDE and your new SSHD is SATA, set the boot order in bios and set the new sshd as the first boot device.
the old hdd will be visible in windows.

Yes, unplug the old drive before installing OS on new drive. After the installation of OS put the old drive back in, then go to BIOS and set the new drive as first boot device. You are done. Goods luck.
