I have got this old HP PC. Its current specs are.

Intel Pentium E2200 2.2 GHZ
3 GB ddr2 RAM
GMA 3100
250 watt psu

Model name is HP Pavillion a6400f.

I need to upgrade this, because it can't run a 10 year old game 720p with decent FPS. I think the CPU is a bit iffy, GPU is horrible. Ram is like 400 mhz. Psu is only 250 watts.

I need an upgrade of around $150, that will get me gaming. Go over $150 if you need to.

Cheers and Happy Holidays!

For around $150

A corsair CX430 power supply and a Nvidia GTX650 ti video card.
Microcenter an Amazon have deals on them right now.
Microcenter if you do not mind waiting for rebates.
Then later upgrade your cpu to a faster quad core. A Q9xxxx series is supported by your motherboard.

I would be very surprised if a 6 series card would work, I would bet you have to go back to a 4 series.
Check out hp's website .

I would buy a Q6600 for $35 ,max the ram and put in a gtx460 second hand.
With an xfx 450 pro psu you would be at 150 $.
9xxx series quads are very expensive.
Sorry, scrub the ram, 3 gig is fine.
