I need PC for games like Dota 2, some FPS games (Call of Duty, maybe even BF4), RTS (Sim City, Total war etc). Beside that, I will be using PC for usual things, browsing, Facebook, Youtube, everyday things. No video rendering or whatever, nothing too complex.

My question is: is it better to go with something like FX 6300 and R9 280x or i5 4570 and gtx 660/R9 270?

I know that Intel is better in single threaded things but will I notice any big difference?

I am using 21.5 inch monitor and for sure, will not use 2 monitors. Will 280x be an overkill for those games at high settings/60fps?

My budget is around 800$ right now, dont need monitor, mouse, keybord, so any suggestion would be helpful.
