Hey guys,

I am looking to buy a new GPU. I have been looking to buy a Gigabyte 7950 but i'm still put off buy it as it costs nearly £50 more than a GTX 760 and I wanted to know why the price gap?

I have found the Sapphire 7950 which is £202 . Why is that cheaper than the Gigabyte 7950?

Sorry for the questions, I don't really understand the price differences and I don't want to spend £50 more for something that does the same as a cheaper one!

Thank you!

Solution
Why do you want one particularly from Gigabyte?

Different sellers may sell at a different price.

The GTX 760 is newer and should beat the 7950 by quite a margin, especially if it's overclocked like that MSI Gaming.

You're fine either way really. So get the cheaper one.

That one was the one suggested to me, and as I don't really know much about GPU's I thought it was the one to buy.

Thank you:)

The gigabyte card is the best one from these 3. 3gb (nvidia has 2gb of memory) with great cooling. I guess it has a bigger price because of better cooling than sapphire's. Other than that, those 2 cards are the same. It really depends on the games you are playing.
In my opinion, go with sapphire card. It's cooling is good too, and it costs 50 gbp less.

Thanks for the reply, Which would you choose out of the cheaper 7950 and the 760?

May I ask what BTC mining is? Isn't it something to do with Bitcoin?

Bitcoin mining. It is difficult to describe, but basically you run your GPU at max in order to "create" BTC. Create is not the correct term, but there is a lot of technical details that goes into it such as block chains, mining pools, etc.

AMD GPUs are much better than Nvidia for mining.
