Unifying a network that has 2 routers on it

So my home network is mostly wired, and has more devices than I can list to build a map. But the important part is getting devices behind a linksys E4200 to see the devices connected to what the linksys is connect to; an asus rt-ac68r.

So to clarify it goes modem-asus-linksys-TV/xbox/playstation/etc. trying to get those second network devices to see devices directly on the asus like its on the same network. Some stuff I've gotten around, but this is mostly for apps and simple stuff that you can't just enter an ip for. Like the tablet control app for my tv, or smart glass for Xbox and Xbox one, or the playstation app for playstation 4. Everything works for internet, but nothing sees anything else. I was able to connect Plex to my computer with an IP, but everything else just demands that it be on the same network.

My other choice is a switch, but when I tried it with a switch before a lot of the devices either couldn't connect to their services or wouldn't connect at all.

Please help, so lost

EDIT: might be worth mentioning that my modem is also a gateway. So I can connect the linskys directly to the modem and the asus directly to the modem. Also router 2 has wireless completely disabled. Don't use it, don't need it. I use it mostly for a wired endpoint so I don't have to run 4 cables up, instead of just one.

Also for port clarification;
Cable modem port 1 to asus wan port, port 1 on asus to wan port on linskys. All 4 linksys ports are in use.

It doesn't work for the same reason people cannot see your machine from the internet. All the devices behind the linksys are being natted to a single address and you would have to figure out how to port forward which likely is not possible when you have lots of devices using the same port.

You best bet is to convert the linksys into a AP. It may have that option or there is a sticky on this forum that tells how to do it.
