i bought this expansion card for my mother board its a pci x1 slot card my mother board does have the port the only problem is that my pcie x16 slot is rite above it im running 2 r9 270 in cross fire but the way i have em set up in in slot 1 and 3 so they have room to breath they are big cards and cover up my expansion slots if i put the gpu on slot 1 it covers up my pci x1 slot i was wondering if its possible to run them in slots 2 and 3 that way i have acces to my 1x slot any ideas?? thanks

Solution
It might be possible, but generally speaking you want to use the x16 and a x8 slot for a sli/crossfire set up. I think you will notice a decrease in performance if you are running the crossfire in 2x 8 slots. Its reducing your available bandwidth considerably.

One way to find out is try to benchmark it?! It shouldn't hurt to try.
