Im probably going to get slated for this but here goes

I have a sapphire Radeon HD7870 and bought a VTX3D AMD Radeon HD 7870 i can crossfire them cant i. I know i need to upgrade at some point but for the time being this is the easiest one to upgrade

new PC set up

ASUS M5 A97 r2.0
AMD FX 8320
16gb Crosair Vengenge 1600mhz DDR3 ram
800W crosair PSU
Sapphire HD7870 (soon crossfired)
120gb Samsung 940evo SSD
60gb Vertex SSD
1tb WD harddrive
RAT 3 mouse
Razor gaming keyboard

If u have recommendations of a quick upgrade i can do with a spare £100 then please let me know i like gaming and video processing

The truth is crossfire blows. Not a lot of games support it and you would be better off spending the money on a gtx 770 and save £50.

If you are adamant you want to do it, you system is good and will support sli/crossfire no problem

after trying and speaking to AMD them selves i was advised that the x4 would only work on earlier GPU's and that it wont work on the hd7870
I have them both in with the crossfire cable atached but no crossfire option both are showing in the device manager as radeon hd78++ series and also in CCC they show as a primary adaptor and a disabled adaptor
