Hi All,

Recently upgraded pc with new 7970 card and I couldn't get windows or catalyst control center to detect my hdmi hdtv or my denon avr 1912 receiver.

SPEC:
mb: asus maximus vi hero/ i7 4770k
vid: xfx core 7970
windows 7 x64
onboard sound

Problem is when I restart the pc, the screen works. I can see the post and load screen and get into windows. Once I install CCC, The screen would no longer be detected and I would have to plug in a DVI monitor to get any display.

I've tried to enable/disable LCD overdrive. removed onboard sound and multiple versions of CCC but all has the same problem. Tried version 12.6 / 13.4/ 13.12.

Desperately trying to get my pc working with my hdtv/receiver. any help is greatly appreciated!

sorry in that case im not sure whats the right thing to do. typically if you connect 3 monitors on video cards they require the 3rd to be from display port.

new discovery. When I plug my a DVI monitor into DVI port 2 instead of port 1.. I get a display on my HDTV that mirrors the display on the monitor. However, windows will not detect a secondary monitor connection so I cannot extend display but only mirror. Also hdmi audio connection to the TV is not detected. Very strange problem....

Ok so if you can do this, I've had to in the past. Install the latest drivers with CCC. Connect your TV via hdmi, turn on tv place it on input hdmi whatever port. Connect your monitor via dvi, and go into CCC on your monitor and there should be a section for monitors, see if it see's your tv then there you be an option to turn on tv or make active, something to that effect and see if it will send the signal then. Sorry I'm not infront of my pc and can't walk you thru it completely, this should get you on the right track tho.

let me know what you find.

I have exactly the same issue. Catalyst won't detect my HDMI monitor, yet the BIOS sees it and writes to it upon boot up. I'm trying to use the HDMI as a third monitor.
MB: Gigabyte GA-F2A85X-D3H
APU: A10-5800
Windows 8.1

im using win 7 64bit.

Pollorino, are you using active displayport adaptor for one of your monitor? I found out from my previous setup that you need one inorder for 3 or more screen outputs.

Thanks for your answer, nyhunter83. No, I'm not. Maybe one more question. My mobo doesn't have a display adaptor port, only a d-sub, a DVI and an HDMI. Any suggestions on how to hook this up?
