Hey guys,

Last night I did something I never did before.

I have 2 active HDDs. 1 SSD (OS) and 1 300GB HDD (programs). Both are plugged in. In addition, I have a 3TB HDD (empty, that i was planning on using instead of the 300GB eventually) that is also plugged in but not in use.

I didn't have enough sata cables so I took the wire from my 300GB HDD to plug in my blu-ray optical drive and booted. I realised my mistake immediately, since I meant to take the cable from the 3TB drive. I had NO access to the programs installed on the 300GB HDD.

Now the kicker. I plugged in all HDDs as they were before and I still do not have access to the paths on the 300GB HDD.

Is there a quick fix for this like tweaking something in disk management? Or will i have to reinstall my programs?

Thanks for any and all advice,

sincerely,

- A very frustrated idiot

Triple check your connections. As the OS SSD was not touched I don't suspect a corrupted OS, just poor communication. Especially if the 300GB does not show up in the Disk management screen. After all that drive is formatted for your system and ready to use.

I checked diskmanagement and the 300GB HDD (which shows up just fine) named E: is still E:. I will triple check my connections. Anything else I might be able to check to verify that everything is as it should be? Thanks a lot, in advance!

Perhaps I could change the drive to another letter then set it back to E:?
