I've just uninstalled my graphic card (R9 290x) from device manager and trying to re-install it because I was having a blank screen issue. Now for some reason my pc can't detect the card even though i installed a fresh new driver. I would just unseat the card and re-seat it, but it's watercool and i'm not confident that i won't mess something up. Is there any other way to detect the card again? thx in advance.

The first issue here is that you were trying to fix something already wrong with it, the screen going blank. That points to a bad card or maybe not enough power to run it.

Either way, you already had an issue with it, so first thing is to test the card in another system and/or your system with another card.

Since it's a newer card, it will be in warranty, I suggest contacting the vendor first before you mess too much with it.

I've isolated the problem and it has to do with window 8.1 update, after switching to window 7 the blank screen issue went away completely. I'm currently an integrated graphic (also, get a blank screen in window 8.1).

That 8.1 update causes a lot of issues, seems like a pretty bad update. There are many posts about issues that started after going from 8 to 8.1
