Hi all the specs of my machine are as follows:
Ambience 80+ 700W EZ COOL PSU
i7 core 2600K
ASUS P8Z77-V
Geforce 560ti 1gb ddr3
500gb satat hdd
12gb 1333mhz DDR 3 ram

I got a new motherboard to build my new pc together as my dad upgraded and gave me some of his old parts. I secured the board and put the processor in and secured the new heatsink fan in, I connected the 24 pin main lead and the 8 pin 12v cpu power lead, i connected the hdd and the gpu. i also connect the speaker and all of the f/panel wires too. Also connected the ram too. All this to not receive a display also the DRAM led was on and it kept resetting itself and rebooting all with no display. So i disconnect the gpu and tried the on board graphics and the led was different in that it wasn't permanently on, So i disconnected the ram and tried just 1 in different slots, i did get display for a few seconds with a message along the line of new cpu installed press enter to enter setup then it restarted as my usb doesn't seem to work and can't connect my keyboard, however It beeped 3 times quickly, I now get 1 short beep with just 1 stick of ram in..I have also tried to clear the cmos and also pressed the mem ok button in 1 slot the dram just keeps flashing..I don't know what else to try. I know the cpu, gpu worked it came out of my dads working computer today…the ram i tried a completely new stick 1 that i was going to sell.

also yh found out single beep means normal operation..also switched off gnu boost but i guess this is only different if you have a graphics card in..at the moment i am trying via on board graphics.
