Best Upper end GPU Solution?

Hi All,

After Christmas I was planning on buying an R9 290 for my self and putting it under water, but because of the Litecoin bubble the prices are jacked way up. I think that Mantle has a future but I don't know anymore if it is still the best value. Because of this, it seems that Nvidia is back in the running for getting my purchase.
What is the best upper end solution ($400-$600) for GPUs at this point? I am willing to do SLI or CFX because I can handle temps with my WC loop (1 240 rad and one 360 rad). I want something that will hold its own above 60FPS for the next few years (so through quite a bit of this console gen)

Thanks,
AM98

Best solution is to get a pair of GTx 770 Sli'ed which would last you in the long run.

However you might get a pair only for 660 dollars, so you're 60 dollars off the pace.

http://www.amazon.com/GTX770-DC2OC-2GD5-GeForce-256-bit-PCI-Express-OC-selected/dp/B00D3F7CFK/ref=sr_1_41?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1387828431&sr=1-41&keywords=gtx+770

The next best option would be to go for r9 270x crossfired....

Sapphire Radeon TOXIC R9 270X 2GB GDDR5 DVI-I/DVI-D/HDMI/DP with Boost (UEFI) PCI-Express Graphics Card 11217-02-40G

The boost edition will cost you around 600 dollars.

You could theoretically even cross fire Gtx 760s for 500 dollars

I still think going for 660 dollars Gtx 770 sli is the way to go.
Nothing beats that in gaming.

If that doesn't convince you, look at this page for Gtx 770 sli benchies.

http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/geforce_gtx_770_sli_review,20.html

A pair of Gtx 770 Sli can even run Crysis 3 at 2500p resolution above 60 fps, the most demanding game.

If you're looking for a single solution setup on the other hand, Gtx 780 could also run most games above 60 fps.

This would cost you 500 dollars for a single card.

But then again, as the games keep coming an SLI would be more future proof.

Would getting 4gb 770s also help?

If you're looking for a single solution setup on the other hand, Gtx 780 could also run most games above 60 fps but only at resolution of 1920x1080p

This would cost you 500 dollars for a single card.

But then again, as the games keep coming an SLI would be more future proof if you ever decide to upgrade your monitor, or if games become even more demanding.

The 4gb of VRAM would only help, if you're planning to play on 2500p resolution in the near future. If not, you can safely go with 2 gb.

If you want a single gpu solution, the AMD R9 290X is $599.99 by XFX, MSI or ASUS, the only GPU that could beat that is a GTX 780 Ti but they are $700 which is over budget:
