Hi Guys,

For any of the PSU experts, I have a corsair TX850M (Which is 80+ Bronze efficiency etc) and was wondering if I could run the following system (Overclocked considerably) on 850 Watts

i7 4770k @ ~4.7GHz
16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400MHz
2x GTX 780 Ti DCII ~1250 / 1900
Peripherals e.g 7 Fans (On radiators), 3x HDD, 4x SSD, 1 Pump (Its watercooled)

Do I need more?

Solution

Thanks, the 2nd GPU isn't gonna be bought for a few months so I think i'll stick with 850w for now then go 1000w at the same time I buy the 2nd GPU, I assume that would cover it?

When you get the 2nd GPU, I would recommend this PSU: http://www.amazon.com/XFX-PRO1000W-Platinum-Compatible-P11000BELX/dp/B0067G6PA0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1387830083&sr=8-1&keywords=XFX+Proseries+1000W

http://www.reviewstudio.net/1179-asus-gtx-780-ti-directcu-ii-oc-review-best-performance-dead-silent#power-consumption

A single card can use up to 732W for total System Power, however that's a really overclocked 6-core i7. The Asus 780Ti overclocked is using about 373W by itself though so your 850W should be fine, but you wouldn't want any less.

Therefore if we add 850W + 373W we get just over 1200W. I think a quality 1200W is warranted here.

There are a few really good, reasonably priced (near $200) power supplies that handle this and I think you should take your time and do a lot of reading. My quick choices would be one of these:

1) http://pcpartpicker.com/part/rosewill-power-supply-lightning1300

2) http://pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-hcp1200

My top choice is the Antec: http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Antec/HCP-1200/8.html

"To wrap it up, if you have three or four high-end VGAs and you want the best available PSU money can buy today then you should put the Antec HCP-1200 on top of your list..."

But don't take my word for it, and things may change.
