I am planning on building a new PC with these specs
CPU: I7 4770k (Getting this CPU for half price so please don't recommend me another one)
RAM: 16GB corsair 1866MHz
MOBO:ASUS TUF GRYPHON

All the other components don't really matter for my question, but I do want to set up a SLI/Crossfire set up in the future.

So, where I live, both of the cards cost around the same (GTX 770 is $50 cheaper) so the price doesn't really matter. I am more concerned with the performance in games, battlefield 4 in particular. I also heard that the R9 280X has a bit of problems with heating and other stuff and that the GTX 770 doesn't. I also heard that SLI is far more superior than Crossfire and that SLI has less stuttering.

I'm using a 1080p monitor and I'm hoping to get around 80fps in bf4 with the SLI/crossfire setup.
The amount of Vram on the GTX 770 is only 2GB while the R9 280X has 3, will this make a large difference at my current resolution?

I have all of my other components ready, it's just the graphic card that I'm missing. I will only use it for games. Please help me out here.

The 2gb and 3gb vram won't make any difference to your resolution. If the difference of vram is really concerning you, grab the 4GB version of the 770. Both are pretty equal cards but the 770 is a bit faster. I personally would grab the 770, plus you said cost doesn't concern you so yeah.
