Upgrading CPU with SSD

I recently bought a 250 GB SSD and I have a few questions concerning installing it, moving files around, and speeding up a desktop.

A few years ago I bought the digital version of Windows 7, downloading the ISO. Several computer upgrades and windows installations later, I think I've maxxed out my 2 interal hard drives with useless, duplicate files. My stock 500 GB HD is almost full so I bought a second 1 TB internal (partitioning that into a 250 GB HD, which is getting full).

My computer is getting pretty slow, which is why I bought a SSD with the intention of cleaning everything up. What's the best way to do that?

How much should go on the SSD and how much should stay behind on a HD? I don't have that many files I want to keep, so the fact that my main 500 GB internal is almost full blows my mind. Aside from a bunch of iTunes files, games, and a few docs, I might be able to fit it all on the SSD. Is that smart?

Should I just put the OS and a few games on it, leaving the big iTunes folder and other stuff behind?

What's the best way to put an ISO file onto a SSD (aka installing windows)?

I gather that there's 2 main ways of moving files from HD to HD: One way is to transfer everything to an EXTERNAL, then move them to the SSD; the other way is to go HD to HD with no middle man. Is there a preference? I already have an external, so that might be my best bet.

I guess my goals are fairly straightforward: get SSD, put essential files on it, wipe what's left behind, run faster. Thanks
