my psu has blown while pc was turned off

hi people last night ishut my pc down,all was good and 20mins after it being off ihear a pop and could smell burning ,psu had failed , would this of taken any thing else with it?

My guess is no, but there's no certainty in that statement until you replace the PSU and see how things run. Okay, you could bench test each component but if I were in your case I'd replace the obviously damaged component, fire up the PC, and then see if anything else got barbecued.

It really depends on how cheaply made the PSU was.

a good PSU should have protected the hardware.

could have taken the cpu or mb out new mb/cpu dont power off like they used to they keep 5v on the mb..that why the power good led on my stay lit when the mb in standby power mode.
