I've been able to use my VIzio TV as a monitor for my desktop PC for months now, I've never had a problem with it until I brought it to my dad's house. It's plug is connected to one of the outlets that are controlled by the switches on the wall, and my dad turned it off, which made my TV turn off. I thought nothing of it until I turned it back on and it said "No Signal" I'm connected by HDMI and like I've said, I've never had an issue with it until now. I've tried restarting my computer, swapping HDMI cords and that hasn't fixed it. I have booted my PC in safe mode and I do get picture, but every time I try to use it normally it goes to the Starting Windows screen and then goes black right before it gets to the log-in screen. I looked around, but I haven't been able to find an answer.

Solution
Reinstall the driver for the monitor or if that isn't a player repick the monitor from the selection of monitors. You should not be on generic.

It says "(Default Monitor) on" which is a bit odd considering it usually says something along the lines of "E-221", but it's the only monitor that's detected and it's in 1920x1080 like it always was.

Thank you, it worked and now I don't have any issues. Thank you again.
