Hi,

I'm building a budget gaming PC for Christmas and will need a monitor to go with it. I don't have much experience with monitors and I'm not sure what to look for in them so I thought I'd ask for some advice here.

I'm looking for a 24 inch (23.6 inch is fine too, a lot of monitors that say they're 24 inch seem to be 23.6) or larger with HDMI and/or DVI (I've heard they are the same but DVI doesn't have the same protection?) input and 1920x1080 resolution. My budget is about £130 though I could probably go slightly over that if it is worth it.

I've had a look and have come up with the following:
Packard Bell/Acer
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/24-Packard-Bell-Viseo243DAbid...

Acer
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/24-Acer-S240HLbid-LED-Slim-Be...

LG
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LG-24EN33V-24-LED-Monitor-16-...

These all seem to have pretty much identical specs (as with pretty much every other monitor). I've looked at YouTube reviews and they all seem fairly decent for the budget. What's the difference between these monitors? Which is best? Is there another monitor in my price range that would serve me better?

Thanks
Ben

I've also come across this LG one

Which seems similar to the other one but this is IPS display, which I've heard are much better. Would this be a better option than the others?

AOC i2353Ph 23 inch IPS
this is the cheapest IPS monitor ,Great one for the money +without any ghosting in speed games +HDMI and VGA

A bit over your budget, but its a nice monitor, 23" IPS panel, HDMI + VGA, with full viewing angle "Viewing Angle 178° H x 178° V" and looks great. I own 2 of them.

Thanks for the help guys. I'll have a look at some of these and since I probably won't be getting one til the New Year, I'll see if the Dell one comes up in the sales. If it is good enough compared to the others, might just get it anyway.

Thanks
Ben
