I recently bought the 280x without realizing how much it was marked up. At this point it will only cost 80-100~ to get a 780. Money isn't a huge issue, but is it worthwhile to purchase it?

If it matters I'd be running:

i5-3570k 4.0ghz
280x or 780
16gigs 1866 g.skill
850w corsair gold psu
1920x1080

yes duh the 780 destroys the 280x. Plus later on when the prices drop you can get another 780 and sli it then you shall reign supreme.

the 780 is about 25% faster then the 280x

and yeah... all the r9 series gpus are insainly overpriced thanks to the cryptocurrency mining craze. If you plan to mine keep the 280x... it will mine x3 faster then the 780... if you plan to game get yourself the nvidia card

I think nVidia is better than AMD. And even more after the G-Sync creation. If AMD doesnt create anything similar I think it has lost the battle against nvidia. Always go for nvidia bro ;)

LOL *face palm*
There is nothing inherently superior to NVidia for gaming despite the lies that keep getting spread.
BUT the 780 is notably faster than the 280X

Lol first off it was a joke and 2nd. Nvidia is known for stability and reliability more so than amd/radeon. Not saying they dont both have their own issues but push comes to shove my safe bets are always with nvidia.
