Earlier today my Display driver repeatedly crashed; while watching videos on YouTube or whenever I'd play a game and a cut-scene would come on. All of my graphics drivers were up to date (Specs below). So I went ahead and uninstalled the drivers and used a utility to completely remove all traces of the Nvidia drivers. I did a virus scan, registry checks and such to see if anything turned up. Virus' were removed and registry issues were fixed. Afterwards I went into regedit and searched nvidia and removed any remnants.

The software I used to clear out the drivers was; 3DGuru Display Driver Uninstaller.
I made a restore point like suggested and proceeded.
Upon restarting my computer and trying to install the latest Nvidia drivers 331.82 (I believe) the installer failed. I went into device manager to find that the "Display" tab is no longer there.

I am stumped.

I tried to attempt a system restore and apparently there is no restore point, even though I know 100% that I made one.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.

Computer Specs:
Intel i7-4770K
EVGA GTX 760 SC 2GB
8 GB RAM
150 GB Intel SSD
1 TB HDD

Try pulling the 760, reset the CMOS and reinstall the 760, go into BIOS and ensure primary video is PCI-E
