You may be thinking in terms of a simple re-insertion of your old hard disk to the new hardware environment.
You may try this, and may be successful also. If successful install all those drivers and softwares on the CD you have got with the new Motherboard. If not, try having the entire contents of the 'Motherboard CD' on a PENDRIVE on one of the USB ports. And restart. You may win this time. Otherwise, the best image backup solution I opted and purchased is Macrium reflect. Download the free version and install. And take an image of the System Drive to an external Hard disk or to a 64 GB Pendrive.( I suggest installing WIndows adk[PE-5] before taking an image backup. It will occupy some space(about 6 GB), but you can remove that, once your purpose is served). Create a Recovery CD also.
On your second new hard disk create a C Drive that has exactly the same size as that of your old hard disk.
Install your OS there. Boot your computer using the Mzcrium Reflect Recovery CD,and 're-image' your Windows installation from the externai hard disk(or Pendrive). If the new Motherboard is not much different from the older one and is of the same Manufacturer, you are very likely to succeed.
Otherwise get a paid version of Macrium reflect and re-image under Windows PE environment.

So what you're saying (in response to this very old thread) is:
" If the new Motherboard is not much different from the older one and is of the same Manufacturer, you are very likely to succeed."

Which, after all the work you outlined, is exactly the same result as if you had just put the old HDD, with the old OS install, in the new hardware, and maybe it will boot.
Otherwise, it won't, and you will have to do a full reinstall. As said way earlier.
