Hey guys,
I will make the purchases for the components of my first build tomorrow, so any advice on the build would be great!

Processor: Intel I7 4770
Motherboard: Asrock h87 pro4
Memory: 2X4GB DDR3-1600
HDD: Western Digitals Caviar Green 1TB
SSD: Adata premier pro SP900
GPU: Asus Radeon 7870
PSU: Rosewill Hive 550w
Case: NZXT Phantom 410

As you can see I still havent determined my RAM but I dont care much since they are pretty much all the same

Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't spend the extra $100 on the i7-4770k go with the i5-4670k and buy a cosair h100i and overclock it, this is the changes i would suggest to your build. In my opinion better quality SSD, PSU and newer card with slightly better performance.

Thanks a lot, thats a great suggestion, but im afraid its not really for me:

-Unfortunately, i forgot to mention that gaming is just another thing i want to do with this pc, since i will actually be working more on it then gaming (about 65% work 35% game)

-Not sure I want to overclock, Im new to all these pc things. I just understood hardware and software is a whole other thing to me ;) plus dont want to take the chance lol

-Finally Im in Canada, which means add 15% to all the prices...

Also wanted to mention. Memoryexpress is doing a price beat right now, Any online deal/sale you find they will beat it by 25% of the difference in prices so whatever deal you find. Hop on memory express to see if they sell that exact same item and do a price match in the cart to get a better deal

Yes but he has to have the Windows updates turned off because of new BIOS - they ditched this OC feature (Intel policy). It can be tricky.. As a matter effect new revisions might not have this feature anyway.
