Anime Music Videos and Intros with After Effects, Cinema 4D 3DS Max.

Specs i should be getting:

AMD FX 8350

8 GB Ram

Radeon 7870

450 PSU

Even if my CPU is "ok", according to some people, i guess i'll have to make do with it. I will be upgrading to 16 GB RAM, GTX 760 anyway but pls tell me if it's good enough or very fast?

I keep thinking the FX will be incredibly slow after seeing all of these benchmarks...... i am really getting stressed over this.

it's fine. dude. i build systems all the time. i work with both high end modern intels and FX cpus and low end Pentium 4s or first edition Athlons.

I've got a pretty good grasp on all the hardware, and trust me when i say this. By the 2nd gen core2duo/quad and the Phenom II, cpus became so stupid powerful the chances the end user could tell the difference between them is almost non-existent.

An 8 core FX cpu is stupid fast... unless you have a haswell i7 desktop sitting right next to it you'll never be able to tell the difference. All those benchmarks are ways to tell the difference between things you can't tell yourself. most of those represent a difference of a dozen seconds over a period of 5 minutes or so... no human can tell that difference. When ANY amd quad core cpu or better will get you 60FPS in ANY game (yes, even skyrim and civ5) and when you consider 95% of the 1080p monitors are 60hz monitors, you'll realize really quickly that an FX 8350 is more then enough cpu for pretty much any use you can put to it.

The rallying cries of those who buy the AMD cpus for a while now has been "better value" and "fast enough"... well i can tell you that unless you're running some crazy quad xfire 5 monitor system, that rally cry is true. FX cpus are generally MORE then enough for anything and everything you can do with them.

(btw: i have an fx8320... and never once felt like i was missing out after using a friends i5... or building an i7 haswell for someone. stick an SSD on your system and it will feel superior in every way to those intel builds... hell in my experience the best improvement in end user experience is found with an SSD... NOT a better cpu).

Thanks a lot, now all i need to know is if i upgrade the radeon 7870 to GTX 760 and 16 gb ram will 450 W be enough 4 it? My not, my budget will be 300 pounds.......

well... the difference between a 7870 and a 760 is about 25%... so you'll see a boost there... the ram will help with video editing... i'm planning on upping the ram of my system to 16gb as well, mostly to make a ramdisk for disk caching...

the fx8350 without overclocking will chew up 200W under load... a 760/7870 will both chew up 170W... you're running up to the limits but a good psu should be able to handle it. I would suggest though you move up to a 600W unit. it will give you overclock room, and your system will be more efficient.
