SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 OC : http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/product_index.aspx?pid=2024&lid=1#

When reading the "System Requirements", it says:
-750 Watt Power Supply is required.

If I have 2 of those "SAPPHIRE VAPOR-X R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 OC" do I need twice the amount of Watt? So 2*750 Watt=1500 Watt?

I think they take the whole system in to account for those recommendations. That particular card uses about 250 watts at full throttle, so add 250 watts to that number. You should be fine with a 1kw PSU.

How can you be so sure that it is 250 Watt? What is your source for that?

Thanks! Do you think it matters which type of Power Supply I use? So are there any ower supplies with incompatible cables?

What could be wrong with those power supplies without "Gold or Platinum" rating? Because I don't see a lot of "Gold or Platinum Rated power supplies".

the listed power supply for that card is for the total system power, not just the graphics card alone. the full tahiti chip 7970ghz/280x once overclocked can peak at around 275 watts total itself but one should allow some head room for that. we dont know what you have for the rest of your system. knowing what cpu you have can help determine what exactly you would need. a power supply doesn't have to have a diamond of platinum rating.... if a power supply is rated for 750w, then it must supply what it is rated. something like a corsair cx750 will work fine, although its not the nicest power supply you can buy, many tens of thousands of these entry level power supplies have been sold and they are bread and butter honda civic models.

Power consumption Radeon R9-280X

1.System in IDLE = 121W
2.System Wattage with GPU in FULL Stress = 350W
3.Difference (GPU load) = 229W
4.Add average IDLE wattage ~10W
5.Subjective obtained GPU power consumption = ~ 239 Watts

AMD R9 280X - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
AMD R9 280X Crossfire - On your average system the cards require you to have a 750 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

Single Radeon R9-280X - requires 30 Ampere on +12V rail and a 550W PSU minimum

This would be better PSU with Silver rating and 62 Ampere on +12V rail :

lonewolf picked you a pretty good power supply for the price.

but we still dont know what the rest of your system is/going to be.

if you have an 8350 overclocked to 5.0ghz... and also overclock two 280x's to 1.2ghz... a 750w power supply would be pushing the envelope.
