hi, im freaking out right now... i ordered this motherboard: http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=MB-F2A75PM&c=CJ

and 2 gigabyte radeon r9 270x's...
i want to run them with crossfirex, but theyre both pci 3.0 cards and the mobo has 2.0 slots.... so i looked around and found this motherboard: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128653

and this one has a pci 3.0 and a pci 2.0 slot. can i crossfire with the different slots? and will it hinder performance? which motherboard should i use???? i need to use crossfirex for gaming...

also, if you know of a better atx or micro-atx mobo with socket fm2, and 2 pci 3.0 slots, please let me know...

Solution
oi... first of all, not a single gpu in existence (including the mighty 780ti) fully saturates a pcie 2.0 x8 slot... and the x8 slot is 1/2 the speed of a pcie 2.0x16 slot... which is half the speed of a pcie3.0x16 slot.

so you see... pcie3.0x16 is a 100% useless tech for current gpus... it might be 3 or 4 years before there is a gpu out there which can fully utilize pcie 2.0x16... so i think you're set with the pcie2.0 motherboard.

That said, you'd be better off with the fm2+ board, as it's kaveri compatible. Kaveri promises to bring nearly i5 level performance to an AMD platform... certainly nehelam level performance... maybe even within 10% of sandybridge... so you'll hve a much better upgrade path going forward.

Get the sniper...

sniper board? and is kaveri the opposite of mantle? or what????

get the GIGABYTE GA-G1.Sniper A88X FM2+ (aka Sniper board).

as for kaveri, kaveri is the name of the new AMD APU coming out in january. It features an upgraded core design called "steamroller" which should give the new cpus on the FM2+ socket nearly identical performance to similarly clocked intel i5 cpus (well... the older ones at least). That's a significant jump in performance over current "piledriver" cored chips on the FM2 socket.

i chose another board.... that board had in the fine print that the pci 3 slot was only accessible with a kaveri cpu... which i cannot afford :p
