I have been using a wireless network adapter with my desktop pc for a while, and I feel like I have such slow donwload speeds, like at a fluxuating 200kb/s-700kb/s. Should I switch to the whole wired connection>

Yup wired always better but cannot do much if your internet connection is the bottleneck...

do the test as Devballs said, it will help to determine is the wifi the bottleneck or it's the internet ones (bandwidth)
