Hi guys,

So I am extremely infuriated to the fact that I just got my Gigabyte GTX 770 4gb in the post and I go to install it and everything works fine! I uninstalled the old graphics card drivers and then placed the new beast in and downloaded and tried to install the 331.82 driver when randomly during the installation (btw this was via Geforce Experience) the screen went black! I waited for a long time hoping that it was just nothing.

Waited for 4 hours, so I did a hard shutdown. Now when I booted it back up again it took a while but everything was normal. So I go to run Skyrim and it freezes after the loading screen. At this moment I decided to try again but download the .exe from the site and so it worked like a charm.

But.. this is when the real issue happends. After installing the 331.82 drivers I go to play Far Cry 3 and im playing at max settings when im getting 30 fps! I should be getting 60+ fps...

I was googling and googling for about an hour and can't find anyone else with this problem. So before the wankers come on and say "did you try searching on google?" well theres your question answered. Now answer mine. Why am I getting 30- fps on every game but skyrim! I manage to get 55-60fps.. even then though, I should be getting 60+

Now here is my build:

Mobo: ASrock extreme 6 z77
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 770 4gb Ghz edition
CPU: i5 3570k (stock fan)
RAM: HP ram 8gb
PSU: Corsair VS650 650W

By the Way I upgraded from the Sapphire HD 7850 OC edition

Kindest Regards, Jack :)

Okay so I ran another game (Assassin's Creed 3) and im running it at max settings and for some reason i get no lag in some areas but when im looking at intense areas or foliage in the Frontier i get really ridiculiously low FPS like 10-15. Could there be a setting or something in NVIDIA control panel that needs changing?

Yes i have, I even did a driver sweep just to double check. I have just updated the bios so I am gonna see if that makes any difference.

Nope that didn't change anything. I tried BF4, Skyrim, Far Cry 3, AC3, Batman Arkham Origins, and only one game actually was 60+ and that was Skyrim all the others were 5-15 fps... Do you think I need to get it RMA? I reaally would like to avoid that as it took a while to arrive here. Also the temps were 50-53ish

Weird. Any OC? Does low settings in the games make a difference? If Skyrim is running 60+ don't RMA yet. I would play around with the Nvidia control panel settings for each game starting with Batman. Maybe single display performance and adaptive refresh? Or if these problems happened after driver sweeper, perhaps something got deleted that shouldn't? I also remember their were some problems with the HDMI sound drivers. Worst case re-install the driver through the DL exe and uncheck everything and tick the box for clean install. You don't need to use driver sweeper anymore with Nvidia drivers.
