Hello!

It's been 1.5 years with my current build which is

CPU= fx-4100 3.6 ghz (overclocked to 4.05ghz with a stock cooler.)
Motherboard= msi 970a-g43
Graphic Card- EVGA 550TI 1 gb VRAM
RAM= 8GB G-Skill 1333

The build have ran my games of choices with suberb performance(45-60fps) with low-mid setting in games like Bf3, Skyrim, Borderlands etc. But since the new games are releasing, I feel like it's time to upgrade.

I know that my Cpu is pretty bad but my Maximum Budget for upgrade is $250 and I feel it would be better to get a aftermarket cooler and overclock it a bit more and get a GPU like the GTX 760 or the new 270x from ATI.

I don't know, What do you guys suggest?

I use on 1080p Monitor btw.

In CPU intensive games, your processor will bottleneck. I noticed that it's overclocked but it's the weakest processor ever.

It's like putting the engine of a Honda in a Ferrari and expecting the Ferrari to be able to compete with an original Ferrari.

You could upgrade your GPU, but I would advise you to wait a bit and save some cash, especially if you want to play the latest upcoming games which will be CPU intensive.

Get at least an FX 6300 before upgrading the graphics card.

Definitely upgrade your CPU. Your CPU is bulldozer architecture and it was bad to begin with. the new x3xx CPU's are really good code named vishera. you can pick up an FX 6300 for around 120 dollars. Then i would recommend selling your old CPU and GPU if you can find someone to buy it from you, and then use that money to help pay for the 6300 and a good graphics card like an AMD R9-270X for around 200 dollars it is a great card for the price!

Thanks for your advice. I am thinking of actually waiting a bit longer and wrap up enough money to just upgrade both mu cpu and gpu together. As for selling my parts, I don't think anyone would be buying such crap items.
