Newly built pc wont start

when i click the power button it lights up and the cpu fan spins then after like hlafa second it stops....
Any ideas what has happened?? And how to fix it!

check that the mb not grounded out of the case. make sure the eight pin power plug is filled and you used the 4 plus 4 cable or the eight pin cable and not the 6 plus 2 cable. unplug the case fans and usb ports see if one of them shorting out the mb. check to see that the fingers on the mb shield not shorting out the mb. try booting with one ram stick with 2100 ram you may need to update the bios or change a few bios settings to get mb to post with both dimms.

I did all what said except the 8 pin power plug ( im not sure what that is but it still wont start )

I didnt have the 8 pin connected.. Now it works :)
