EVGA gtx 760 and Corsair CX600M question

I bought a EVGA gtx 760 and Corsair CX600M PSU. The PSU comes with a pci power connector that is basically an 8 pin on one side, and 2 seperate 6+2 pins on the other side. The card requires an 8 pin and a 6 pin connector. Can I connect the 8 pin to the psu, the 6+2 to the 8 pin slot on the card, ans the other 6+2 into the 6 pin slot on the card (without the 2 ofcourse.) I would think that makes no sense, but the wire itself makes no sense either. I would connect a seperate 6 pin instead but my PSU didnt come with one.

So if there is Y how it do not work? Slide the 2pin out and connet to card. From 6+2 pin connector.
I do not see problem. They ok to psu where are thay labeled. It do not matter do you have two separate connectors. You can have 6 or 8 conneectors with 3 or 4 way SLI. As long they fit to both ends you are fine.

I think you misunderstpod my question. The connectors are NOT seperate. I would be powering thr 760 off of a single 8 pin connector from the power supply. But the connector is literally an 8 pin on one side and 2 6+2 connectors on the other side. think like the shape of the letter Y . You answer seems as if I have 2 seperate connectors, but I dont. Is it safe to power 14 pins on the GPU with 8 pins of power from the PSU? Or should I go buy a 6 pin connector?
