So all I have done is put a new motherboard into a new case in preparation for Christmas, (all other parts are the same) and now whenever I try to boot, it goes halfway through the logo and then it crashes. I have no idea why. I've made sure that it's booting from the hard drive first, could somebody help? Thanks in advance.

did you set your SATA to AHCI (in bios, go set SATA mode to AHCI or IDE)? i guess you had AHCI set on the old MB. Try that. If it works, then boot up, save you data from drive C and reinstall Windows. A MB upgrade its highly recommended with a Windows reisntall.

I'm sorry I completely misread your post and thought you replaced the board with another my mistake. I suggest the same as the previous post you will need to check your connections and you might want to try starting in safe more and see if you can do a system restore or repair.

It's currently on IDE, I will go change that and see what happens, thank you.

Safe mode doesn't help unfortunately, ,neither does the system repair.

I'm sorry, I just wrote incorrectly, i installed a new motherboard as well in to the new case, everything else is the same. I tried doing what you said, and now it wont detect the hard drive at all.

Well if you replaced the mother board but you're using the same hard drive that was working with your previous mother board then that is a problem and you will need to re-install windows.
