Hey guys. I recently brought a saphire r9 290.
I also brought an 120 gig SSD.
And a 700w power supply.

Its all connected up and worked fine. Now after 3 mins of using the card it crashes and gives me the error: Display driver stopped responding and has recovered.

I cant use the computer at all because of this...

What model is your PSU?
Your card may be faulty, you could RMA it.

what amp is on your 12volt rail?

And did you do a complete driver sweep of all old drivers? Or was this on a fresh windows install?

if your video card has 1 8 pin slot and 1 six pin slot then yes you would plug one six+two pin into the 8 pin slot then the six pin into the six pin slot.

this would also be why you are experiencing issues. The 6+2 connectors are just designed for either 6 or 8 pin connections. If you need it to be 8 pin connection just insert the extra +2 into the two open slots. Otherwise just use the 6 pin.
