Is there a program that I can use to shut down my pc when my gpu reaches 85 degrees for example? I want to leave my pc on for 2 days to mine Litecoins while I'm gone, but I don't want it to become too hot, so I would like a program that makes me able to set a certain temperature at which my pc shuts down automatically.

Most of them throttle back when reaching a certain temp, no need for user input.

Ah so you're one of the reasons the card prices are so high.....darn litecoin miners..........lol j/k it should throttle itself back automatically.

If your GPU is going to reach 85 then shut down the entire system, I suspect it won't take long to get there, and you won't get much mining done, but like you said, this was just an example. Do you know the safe temperatures for your graphics card, and what it normally peaks at during mining?

When I put my gpu on max mining and my fan on 70 percent my gpu stays around 70 degrees, but once it was 84 degrees for some reason. It is safe for my gpu to get hot, but I just don't want to take any risks :D . I have a Radeon HD 7950

Cool, looks like you've done your homework! :-) I would think 85 to be a reasonable temp to have the system shut down on, if you normally run 70 degrees.
