Hi guys here is my question,i'm going to build a workstation pc with duel xeon and i wanted to know if gaming once in a while is going to creat bugs\lags or any problem for them? (the games are blacklight retribution and planetside 2 )

Solution

Thats not my experience, xeon processors have a built in anti error functions which is the maine reason for xeons. Once he will play things like planetside it depends on what the load is at the same time while he is hosting, he has an increased chance of that part failing.

It depends on what the person is doing as said before, not much info is given, i would certainely not risk it, had some bad experiences with it.

Nah you should be fine, The only difference is a small downclock on clockspeed & no iGPU if i'm correct. Those games should play smooth as hell aslong as you have a solid GPU along with it!

Well,it's a computer for engineering,(solid works and such ) the gpu's will be a Qwadro k5000 and EVGA gtx Titan superclocked (wow it's super clocked!!!... :| )..i was thinking of shoving in to it a Tesla >< but this is way over kill :p

also i was wondering if a xeon can be paired with a i7 k (from what i know now it can't but i want to hear your thought )
(the motherboard is the ASUS Z9PE-D8 WS )
