Ok! here is the problem, I bought this computer about 4 days ago
Computer: http://www.frys.com/product/7717418?sour...

but it showed me the Blue screen of the death, also it overheats and works kind of slow so i will return it and ask for a full refund and I would like to know if I can get a better computer with that money ($500) or build it, if so, could you guys help me out telling me where can i get a better computer or where can i buy it and how to build a better computer than that one with $500 budget.

I will use it for some video editing and some light gaming as well

I would really appreciate it.

Thank you!

Budget is too low. with 600 you get build like this but there is no OS.

can you use a gaming computer for video editing BTW?

Video editing needs more cpu and memory. Gaming needs more or better video card.
But is is not easy to make cheap video editin+ gaming build under 100-1300$ Or even under 2000.

Intel is better video editing. Best is if buy i7 4770k or Intel xeon 1230V3 if do not OC.
But best for video editing is 4930k. But cpu price is over 500.

Video editing need lots of memory. 16GB is for start and better have 32 or more.

Good video editing video card is GTX 650 or better. Good gaming video card is GTX 760 or better.
SSD is really good with video editing. Bigger is better. I have 2 240GB SSD in raid 0. But for future I upgrade one more for cashing. 128GB is enough for cashing for me. Or maybe I go with two new 256GB SSD + 1TB Samsung evo. And then maybe 240GB SSD for cashing. I have 3930k cpu and Two GTX 780 SLI. So my build can do gaming video editing or anything I trow at it. But sure it is not cheap.

Look here it gives you idea how video editing works with difrent cpu and video cards.

what about a computer for decent video editing and zero gaming with a 500 Budget, is that possible? I understand it won't be the best computer.

That 600$ build was best what you can even near that 500 price. Anything lower than that is not really a good idea for video editing.
