I bought 2 - 2gig ram sticks for a Compaq Presario SR 5505F PC that I reformatted and put WIndows XP Professional (32 bit) on. THe motherboard is M2N68-LA (Ivy). In the BIOS, the motherboard recognizes the memory in both slots, although it recognizes them as 1024 mb each rather than 2 gig sticks each. I have no video card (using onboard still for now) but would that make the computer recognize the memory sticks wrong?

In windows, the system recognizes it as 1.87 Gig RAM. How do I get it to recognize a 2 gig stick as 2 gigs rather than just 1 gig each? (And yes I'm aware I can't get the full 4Gig... but 1.87 Gig is no where close to where it should be haha) Thanks!

Do you have the latest BIOS? Also have seen many buy a package of 2 sticks labeled as 2 GB thinking that each stick is 2GB when in fact the pair together = 2GB or that they are 1GB sticks
