Using a broken heatsink?

Yesterday, my Amazon order of an Intel i5 4570 CPU arrived. The packaging was completely crushed, which had damaged my heatsink inside. I'm currently awaiting a free replacement, but it won't be here until next week!

The heatsink has a few bent fins, and the plastic that goes over the fan and around the fins has a split on one part. Would this be dangerous to use?

I really want to be able to use my PC straight away (I'm not very patient), but I don't want to use it and then have the fan fly off, or have plastic breaking apart inside my computer.

What would you suggest?

From your recommendations, and from taking the heatsink out of the box for a second time, I think I'll have to be patient. I just found that the crack is causing the whole fin plate to slide out of place, and I have also just discovered a further crack. Nevertheless, I shall upload a picture shortly of the bent fins.

You can see the bent fins on the left hand side, the split in the plastic is just beneath these.
