Possible HDD/RAM(?) problem, not sure.

Hello Tom's hardware.

From time to time my pc won't boot and i hear a weird click-like noise from my PC, it's 99 % from the HDD unless my hearing is severely bad.

When i had this exact problem before, i went to a service store and they said i had a bad RAM brick (2 gb) and they just removed it.

Now it's happening again and i think it's not gonna be long before some part goes bad again.

If it happens again i'll record the sound on my mobile and upload it, i just managed to capture the error on my screen (a disk read error, press ctrl+alt+del to restart) sorry for the flash: http://i.imgur.com/g0FesZ0.jpg

I'm really confused and i can't figure out if maybe something completely different is causing the problem, because i'm planning on upgrading half of my PC and i'm also getting a new case and i don't wanna transfer any bad parts.

Does anyone have an idea what might be the issue here?

get a new hard drive now before you lose your personal data. hard drive disk read is a fatal error for a disk drive. for the ram stick if you still have it put it back in and run memtest on it see if it is bad. ram is cheap if the ram stick did go bad the shop should have replaced it or seen if it was under warranty a lot of ram vendor have life time warranty's on there memory's.

You're probably right, but the thing is this is a different HDD, i replaced it after it happened the first time, i find it hard to believe that both HDDs are failing, and my RAM, although it's still possible since i have really bad luck.

run hdtune to read the drive smart info. also run hardware monitor check your power supply voltages. with hard drive they can die at any time if there not shipped right to you and get dropped. if the drive is used drive then your on used time. also drives that vendor send you may or may not be new drives under the rma warranty.
