hello..well i am really pissed of...i builted a budget gaming pc 2 weeks ago and i noticed the cpu temp was not good with the stock amd cooler while browsing and playing games...browsing was about 55C and gaming 70C..so today i bought cooler master hyper 212 evo..i installed it correctly with a correct dose of thermal paste i think..(not to little not to much)...i noticed that my temps in idle are the same with the stock cooler...39C..i really got mad...when i play games it goes to about 65C (not more)...and i am wondering why i am getting these temps?some poeple with 212 evo have idle temps of 30 and 35C..i havent overclocked or anything..my cpu is (amd athlon x4 750k)...help me please..in full load using intel burn test the temp is about 65C...are these temps ok?

Solution
Those temps do seem a bit high. How much thermal paste did you apply?
For that CPU you should apply a rice sized drop right in the middle of the CPU. I usually use a piece of scotch tape (non-sticky side of course) and spread the paste so there is a thin even layer covering the entire CPU.
Using too much paste can have the effect of trapping the heat in. Not using enough won't allow the paste to properly wick the heat away from the CPU.
The worse case scenario is that you will have to clean the CPU and heat sink of paste and reapply it.

65c under stock clocks full load is about max temps or higher than max so it is not good. I would double check and see if u used enough thermal paste as that may be the problem and make sure that u have enough airflow, and if any other component isnt producing extra heat like the gpu that could make the cpu hotter.

well idle temps are really not much to worry about, your ambient temperature has a lot to do with it, as well as case airflow. Its when the CPU gets stressed is when you need to make sure your temps are safe.
Use HardWareMonitor to check everything. Other than that you can try reseating the heat sink and using the credit card method for spreading thermal paste. If all this doesn't work, the last thing I would say is try lower the CPU voltage in small increments.

Your temps are actually just fine but if you want to try to get them even cooler, which you might not be successful at it, do what I mentioned above. If you lower the voltage and nothing changes then find a safe and stable low voltage.

amd athlon x4 750k is not an apu...i use hw monitor and hw info...both show the same temps..

I said APU-based. The Athlon X4 chips just have their iGPU disabled/ripped out, and carry the same quirks - like weird thermal readings.

HWMonitor is often the main perpetrator in giving weird readings in APU-based chips. Give CoreTemp and/or AMD Overdrive a try.

the program that came with the mobo(gigabyte f2a88xm hd3) showed (with the stock cooler) idle temp of 20C and gaming temp of 40C ;p LOL..

the cooler is facing UP...i have a top mounted psu..the cooler is facing that way...

If the picture that shows up first when the linked is opened, the fan should either be on the opposite side of the heatsink with the fan blowing thru the heatsink (http://dvtests.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/IMG_6526.jpg), or completely turn the heatsink and have like this.

Edit: just looked at the case model and forgot u said top mounted psu, so will def wanna go with the 2nd pic link
