Hello world and Merry Christmas.

My question is.. I just ordered a Asus 7870 to add to my rig:

sabertooth 990fx 2.0
Diamond 7870 Double Black diamond
fx8350

My question is, do you think Ill run into problems running two different vendor type 7870s in crossfire..?

I realize the diamond is slightly OC'd from the facotry, but I do not mind if the new setup runs at the same speed as the Asus card..

Thanks

No problems at all - the cards will operate at the lowest frequency of the cards. I hope your psu is up to the task. I ran an EVGA & Gigabyte card in SLI for over a year without problem.(I knnow it's sli - still applies)

No, you'll be fine. Just make sure they have the same amount of VRAM, and that your PSU is capable of powering it all.

You're good to go, just make sure you have a Crossfire bridge.

Both cards have 2GB of RAM, im kinda worried about my case /heat tho..

its a mid tower atx.. ill probably put the Asus on the Top slot since Asus claims it should be cooler..

Got it from newegg:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

came with 4 fans.. 1 front, 2 side, one back.

I have my old 6850 in there now with the 7870 just playing around with litecoin mining.. the 7870 gets up to around 75c at full litecoin load.. 75c for the vrm as well.

the 6850 runs hotter.. even after blowing all the dust out of it :p  around 78c

Make sure your two side fans are intake, and 75C for the GPU and VRMs is great; it's nothing to worry about at all.
