Hey!

This being my first post, the biggest question on my mind is if the PC I'm going to buy soon, which comes pre installed with a Radeon 6670 will run a GTX 660. Since i don't have knowledge of weather a motherboard can run a certain GPU, i need to ask this. Here is the link to the rig,http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009HSHXGU/ref=s9_si... can anyone tell me if the GTX 660 is compatible? Thanks in advance.

Also i was wandering if an AMD R9 270, R70x, R80, R80x, or R90 and R90x are a better choice.

More about : run gtx 660

Yes it is compatible and you will be able to install it. You need to install it in the black PCI-E slot which you motherboard will most likely have in any case.

You can also install Gtx 760 or r9 270x which are definitely much better choice if you are running games on full HD resolution.

The r9 280x and 290x while extremely good cards, will cause your processor to Bottleneck if it is not overclocked adequately. If you are thinking of that route, you might want to buy a PC with a FX-8320 processor or plus.

So in a nutshell.

Your Gtx 660 will work in this system.
You would be better off with Gtx 760 or r9 270x if you play full HD games for sure.
You wouldn't be better off buying any card higher than that, due to processor bottleneck.

hope its clear now.

Btw, if I wanted to get a r9 270x or 760 which I probably will, what type should I get to fit with my mboard? I don't know all the numbers on the page about compatibility, http://www.amazon.co.uk/R9270X-DC2T-2GD5-1120Mhz-2048MB..., if so could you link me to the best r9 270x, as that's probably what I'll get.

Thanks.

Asus is a top end card with good coolers. It's highly recommended, but also a bit on the higher side.

You could safely get a Sapphire or Gigabyte version if it costs less with adequate cooling.

Asus cards are better if you intend to overclock your Graphics card. Then the cooling comes into play.

Don't worry about the brands fitting in your motherboard. As long as you have the black PCI-E slot in your motherboard, any brand will fit comfortably. That's the way Graphics Cards are made.

Good luck !
