quick graphics question

i just got my new card XFX HD-667X-ZHF3 Radeon HD 6670 1GB my current gpu is a geforce 6150se coprocessor i just need to know if theres a specific way to uninstall the driver because i dont want to muss anything up. thanks!!

There is no specific way, but I recommend DriverSweeper to do a fresh install.

It removes all the old files for sure and then once the old files are completely gone, you can download the new AMD catalyst suite drivers off their website and install the new drivers.

ok thanks i never did this before. so i just uninstall with drivesweeper, restart download the amd drivers then insert the new card and restart again?

Yes, though after installing the new drivers, you probably won't have to restart again.

ok i am confused im following this guide and it says to uninstall drivers in add/remove program and there are 3 nvidia programs: "NVIDIA Drivers" "Nvidia Graphics Driver 307.83" and "Nvidia Update 1.10.8" do i remove all of these? and if i remove the drivers before installing the new card/drivers will the screen still display?

uninstall all of the drivers.....you will still be able to get the display.

it will revert to vga at resolution 800*600 or something around those lines.....but you will get display

are you sure because the other gpu is onboard and i already switched the primary gpu in the bios to the 6670 and it seems to work fine accept that combat arms crashes after it loads

just uninstall old drivers>reboot your PC in Safe Mode>use Driver Sweeper and select what to clean>press the clean button>restart>install latest amd drivers>restart again and you a good to go.

duude what the heck happened i uninstalled nvidia drivers and now no games work and it says windows aero is not supported. i switched back to PCI just to used webpages, and i installed the drivers earlier shouldnt they be working

i uninstalled nvidia drivers, nvidia graphic drivers and nvidia update through programs and features, so thats ok?

If your Nvidia graphics were onboard you probably have an Nvidia chipset as well as Nvidia graphics on your motherboard, those drivers you don't want to uninstall.
What's the motherboard?

i have an a6700f hp all else is stocked but i think i did uninstall most the nvidia stuff and cleaned the chipset/physics...

amd drivers are installed combat arms still crashes. its weird tho because when i start it it says i cant run windows aero theme and it switches to classic, and other games work fine

When i play Age Of Empires 3 it says it can't display windows aero when i start the game but it doesn't crash. It has to do with it being an old game and not compatible.

What operating system are you using? Include 32 or 64bit.

I have just been reading this a little.
