Spilled thermal compound on motherboard and cpu

Hey guys, i f'ed up lol. I spilled the thermal compound(CM IC Essential E1) on underneath my cpu(the pins) and on my motherboard(where the pins go in to) Will this break my CPU and/or Mobo? or is the thermal compound resistant to that?

  1. Get some rubbing alcohol and use a cotton swab to get out as much of it as you can.

What if i don't have that atm?
  3. You can damage your motherboard and CPU by leaving it on. If it is electrically conductive (i.e. Arctic Silver), it could be even more damaging.
