I recently upgraded my video card from a gt 530 to a gtx760 I also upgraded my power supply to a cool max cu 500w. Every time I start up my computer with the new card I get stuck at the hp splash screen then after two minutes my monitor turns off. Since the cool max power supply only had one six pin pcie I got a splitter to turn it into two then I used the adapter that came with the card to convert into a 8pin.

If I replace the gtx760 with the gt530 it starts right up again.im at a loss

Specs

Intel i7 2600
8gb ram
1tb harddrive
Gtx 760 video card
-I would check my bios settings but I can't find my bios. Closest thing I could find to it was computer setup settings.

Could my mobo be the issue it IS a OEM mobo??

Get a new power supply, dude. That thing is just awful. I wouldn't want that thing within a mile radius of my computer, let alone power it.
